History: St. Andrew's Cathedral is the oldest Roman Catholic church in the Victoria area. As the symbolic centre of the See of Victoria, the Cathedral relates the origins of the Roman Catholic faith on Vancouver Island through its architecture. The most recent historic development includes the installation of the Coast Salish artwork carvings of the altar panels and the ambo.
