VICTORIA
Victoria
Victoria is located at the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island. It is the west coast version of Paradise Island. It has all ammenities ready for you to enjoy. Winter, fall, spring or summer, the city of Victoria is picturesque all year round. Victoria's beauty has inspired artists and celebrities from around the world who live, work and play here. Langford
Langford is one of the Western Communities in the Capital Regional District. The
Western Communities includes the District of Metchosin, the City of Colwood, the
Town of View Royal, the District of Highlands, the Langford Electoral Area and the
Sooke Electoral Area. Langford has an area of 4,146 sq. hectares (10,245 sq. acres).
With a central location, Langford is positioned to become the commercial core of the
Western Communities. Langford is well served by highways, rail and bus to Nanaimo

Colwood
Colwood is located 10 kilometres (6 miles) west of downtown Victoria in the largely residential area of the Western Communities. Incorporated in 1985, the City of Colwood has a population of over 14,000. The city is divided into residential pockets such as Triangle Mountain, Colwood Creek, Colwood Lake Estates, Wishart and Lagoon areas. Colwood has a rich heritage dating back to the 18th century and is proud of its many historic landmarks such as Hatley Castle and Fisgard Lighthouse
Oak Bay
East of downtown, Oak Bay is a separate municipality and considered to be
one of Victoria's most "exclusive" neighbourhoods. A large marina is close at hand, with lovely beaches, good fishing, and picturesque Garry oak trees. Residents know it as being behind the "Tweed Curtain". The Uplands is located in Oak Bay and is the choice residential area. Many tour buses will take you along the scenic route through the "gated" community to view ocean front homes that range from $600,000 to the multi-millions.
Esquimalt
Just a short drive over the big blue Johnson Street bridge is the municipality of Esquimalt. This area includes View Royal, Rock Heights and Saxe Point as part of its whole. Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt is located in the municipality of Esquimalt, just west of Victoria, British Columbia. The role of CFB Esquimalt is to support the ships of the Canadian Pacific Fleet. There are 4000 military and 2000 civilians working at the base. Annually, the presence of the base contributes about $340 million to the local economy.
Fairfield
Fairfield is located on the east side of Beacon Hill Park. This quaint, established neighbourhood has a large collection of historic sites to see including the Ross Bay cemetery and Cattle Point. The infamous Cook Street (named for the explorer and navigator of 1778, Captain James Cook), Village is located on the north side of Beacon Hill Park where many residents enjoy coffee and lattes in open air covered cafes and enjoy many trendy pubs, wine shops, video stores and 1 block from Dallas Road.
Saanich
Saanich is one of the oldest agricultural settlements in British Columbia and an area rich in local history. Saanich is abundant with lush green parks such as Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary and Mt. Douglas Park. The countryside is brimming with farms and cottages that offer vegetables, flowers, and fruits for sale from roadside stalls. While in Saanich, make sure to visit historic Craigflower Schoolhouse, the Horticulture Center, and the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. Elk Lake and Beaver Park are a great place for watersports, walking, and fishing.
Central Saanich
Saanich Penninsula includes Central and North Saanich which is home to the world-class Butchart Gardens and the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society. Country roads continue to lead through the parks, forests, farms, mountain paths, ocean beaches, marinas and antique shops. Brentwood Bay Marina is another must see and do, especially for great Cajun food at Blues Bajou.
Sidney-by-the-Sea
The quaint seaside township of Sidney is known for its marine mammal museum, bookstores, picturesque marinas, great restaurants and galleries. Sidney is often called "The Book Town." The Port Sidney Marina draws boaters and fishing enthusiasts from all over the Pacific Northwest. Take a whale watching adventure or visit the Sidney Marine Mammal Museum, Mineral World and Scratch Patch, and the B.C. Aviation Museum.
Sooke
West of Victoria along the Island Highway (Hwy 14), you'll find the West Shore Communities. These Communities consist of Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, and Sooke. Sooke offers plenty of outdoor opportunities and specialty bed and breakfasts. Favourite attractions include Fort Rodd Hill and the Fisgard Lighthouse, Hatley Park at Royal Roads University, and the Sooke Regional Museum.
